McGrath, Carmichael, and Pastrana To Appear On The Tonight Show With Jay
Leno
EA SPORTS™ Supercross Invades NBC Parking Lot
AURORA, Ill., May 9 - EA SPORTS™ Supercross Presented by Speed Stick will invade the
NBC parking lot on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno as Jeremy McGrath, Ricky
Carmichael, and Travis Pastrana will compete for the second annual "Tonight
Show Cup," Friday, May 11th at 10:30 p.m. CT/11:30 p.m. ET.
Team Chevy Trucks Kawasaki's Ricky Carmichael, who is the current 250cc
champion and, will make his first-ever appearance on the Tonight Show with
Jay Leno. Team Mazda Yamaha's Jeremy McGrath and Team Suzuki's Travis
Pastrana were featured on the show last season in the inaugural Leno Cup.
Racing through the studio's hallways and onto the man-made track located in
the parking lot, McGrath edged out Pastrana, giving him bragging rights to
the championship.
The layout of the track is atypical from that of EA SPORTS Supercross, but
as versatile as these riders are, it shouldn't be a problem. Starting from
the show's stage, riders will; blast through the hallways before riding onto
the parking lot that has been transformed to a man-made dirt battleground.
A step up from last year's track, Dirt Wurx, the official track designers of
the EA SPORTS Supercross tour, will pull out all of the stops to construct
one of the gnarliest tracks. An expected 100 truckloads of dirt will sculpt
'triple' jumps that shoot riders three stories high and 80' in distance,
rhythm sections that offer various lines, and frame-breakin' whoop-de-doos.
"We are extremely pleased to be back on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno,"
said Dan Krolczyk, Senior Director of Marketing, Motorcycles, SFX Motor
Sports. "Last season we had great feed back from our loyal fans who watched
the show and we hope to continue to feature the stars of EA SPORTS
Supercross on the show."
